Aldermoor Farm Primary School recognises the important role young carers play within their families life’s’ and the additional responsibilities this places upon them.
Young carers are children and young people under 18 who provide or intend to provide care for another person who is ill, disabled, has a mental health condition or an addiction problem. A young carer becomes vulnerable when their caring role risks impacting upon their emotional or physical wellbeing and their prospects in education or life.
To support young carers at our school we are holding a monthly Young Carers Café. The café allows the young carer’s time to relax, talk to other young people and enjoy fun activities.
The school has an effective referral system in place and a strong partnership in place with Coventry Young Carers.
