Student Leadership Team

At Aldermoor Farm, we pride ourselves in allowing the students to become more independent and even offer opportunities where they can develop their skills further and lead different teams within the school community. Within our school, we have our:

Head Boy and Girl

Year 6 students and are brilliant representations of our school’s ethos and our code of conduct. They ensure that they are always demonstrating our school rules and values to the highest standard, being role models to all pupils.

Prefects

One of our roles in the Student Leadership team is the role of a prefect. A prefect is a senior pupil who is authorised to ensure the safety of the staff, the students and the school. The prefect team consist of students from Key Stage 2.

School Council

The school council is group of students who are elected to represent the views of all pupils and to improve their school. Regular meetings take place to see through changes within the school that match our ethos and code of conduct. The school council team consist of students from Key Stage 2.

Junior Librarian

The library is an integral part of our school, and we want our children to be proud of it. Therefore, we have selected students from Year 5 and 6 to ensure that the heart of the school operates smoothly. Junior librarians assist all students within the school with accessing the right level books and operating the online library system.

The student leadership team is a growing team led by the dedicated students and staff of Aldermoor Farm and therefore, there will be opportunities to create more teams and offer more prospects for the students to develop their cultural capital.

Thus far, our student leaders have successfully coordinated two charity events: Jeans for Genes Day and the autumn harvest.

They have also ensured that the school library is run effortlessly for the enjoyment of all students (and staff).

By selecting each class’s school council representative via a ballot system, all students have been exposed to the British value of democracy and how the government in our country is organised and run.
